在泰國工作幾年後，肯定會開始思考後面的發展及生涯規劃，其實也就是留不留泰國的選擇。我周遭的朋友來看，選擇留在泰國發展的居多，主因是泰國步調慢、物價低廉、拿著與台灣工資水平相當的收入，在泰國就能過著相當優渥的生活。這次訪問幾位留在泰國長居的朋友們，看看他們是什麼想法及感受！

(1)在泰國外派7年，傳產機台工程師
目前在泰國待了7年，老婆小孩都在台灣，曾想過將妻小帶到泰國發展，但泰國工廠通常設在偏鄉地區，教育及生活都比較不便利，因此遲遲不將小孩帶至泰國；
此外，在泰國，其薪資約為每月7-8萬元，而嘗試面試幾家位於台灣的同產業工作，最多僅能拿到4萬元月薪，要負擔房貸及小孩教育等費用，顯然相當不夠用，因此目前僅能持續服務於現有公司，無限期地待著，還沒有其他更好的想法。
(2)在泰國工作10年，剛娶泰國太太的管理部經理
大學科系就是泰語系，主要想追求泰國準時下班、慢活的工作環境，因而不在國內就業，而來到泰國找工作。
由於會中文及泰語，在台資及陸資企業服務皆相當吃香，從儲備幹部開始，努力學習且能讓泰國人信服的話，很快有機會晉升至課長、經理職等。也因為能使用中文與中國／台灣總公司的高層密切溝通，自然在職場中會受到很大的重視，工作職位也很穩定。
其薪資與國內是相同水平，所以在泰國可以過得很優渥。近期娶了泰國太太，獲得長久居留權，並與太太一起購買了一棟別墅，大約花費400萬泰銖，房貸壓力不大。後面也預計在泰國長久生活，享受人生。

- Udemy Thai Courses (Taught in English)
- Hahow好學校泰文課(中文授課)- I'm lucky to have Thai teachers and colleagues who help me learn the language. If you don’t have access to a Thai-speaking environment or local friends/teachers, I highly recommend these two well-reviewed courses on Hahow. Thai is relatively easy to pick up, and the content is well-structured. The key is to find a teaching style that suits you best—this applies to learning any language. The teacher’s style makes a huge difference! 😆
(3)在泰國外派12年，單身主義的業務經理
先前曾經在竹科/中國待過高科技產業PM，對於應對外國客戶及專案管理很得心應手。當時為了增加自己的視野，到泰國來找工作。
到泰國的感想是，泰國人步調慢，對比竹科/中國等壓力大、步調快的公司形成強烈對比，初來乍到時，非常不習慣，許多很著急的項目，泰國人都仍然老神在在，一點緊張感都沒有。
但時間久了，他發現泰國人這樣的工作方式，雖然造成工作上的延遲，其實整體也不至於影響過大，因而漸漸地也融入當地，以泰國的心態，慢步調的工作，維持著不錯的工作/生活平衡。
沒有結婚的打算，在泰國買了車，正在泰國申請長久居留權，也在泰國找一些商業貿易買賣等創業機會，準備在泰國生活到退休。
(4)泰國工作5年，來泰國開設分公司的主管
泰國外派跟台灣工作很像，部份的人到大型公司，也有人到新成立的公司，或公司需要在東南亞開設據點的，每位外派人士都會有許多不同的經歷
為什麼來到泰國？
因緣際會下，認識了泰國女孩，兩人決定到泰國打拚，因此男方找到一家台灣大型設備公司，籌備到泰國來設立分公司的工作；分公司設立流程不熟悉，且一方面公司又要求逐步開展泰國當地業務，取得業績，這份工作對他來說是挑戰性非常大
發展初期
初期，在尚未取的正式工作簽證及未辦理好結婚的依親簽證，且泰文尚未流利的情形下，幸好有泰籍太太協助，逐步找尋出租地點，跟房東簽約；簽好後辦理公司註冊，同時１個人兼任業務職，在當地做起陌生開發的業務活動；由於擔心泰文介紹公司產品說不清楚，初期請太太協助充當業務助理推廣業務
經歷了艱難的草創／跑業務的一年，公司逐步進入正軌，泰語也逐步達到可以商務談判的水準
發展現況
他的初衷是要跟太太在泰國享受生活並在工作上有所成就；在一年努力下，現在公司有了４名員工，且周末可以與太太悠閒地享受生活，並逐步在泰國置產，他覺得很久成就感，也成功地完成人生階段性任務
泰國設新公司感想歸納：
- 在泰國外派成立新公司，這類的工作很有挑戰性，好處則是相對時間自由
- 泰國置產，房屋300萬、車子70萬、不到400萬，即可有車有房
- 有泰籍太太協助，許多事情都變得容易許多，不管是辦理公司文件、簽證、跟房東議價、開展業務等
- 跟自行創業比起來，幫大公司成立分公司沒有資金壓力，更可以專心致力於業務及設立公司重要任務上；開展業務時也可以有台灣總部的資源協助，速度快很多
- 在曼谷周邊生活，其實很國際化，且消費比台北低很多；曼谷生活豐富有趣，且存錢速度快，要做其他投資機會很多，也很容易
- 觀察泰國，不管是廣告、建築、室內設計等，許多很有創意的產物甚至比台灣豐富，在泰國可以激發許多新思考
採訪後反思總結，自己該怎麼選？
以上幾位朋友的例子看來，大多派駐海外的常駐人員，都可獲得不錯的職位及薪資，在泰國過尚不錯的生活；但在於人生進入下一階段，考慮結婚生子的時期，則必然面臨是否繼續留在海外工作，或選擇海歸回台。
每個選擇都有好與壞，以上不同的例子，可以提供外派者一些參考面向!
